I got busy with this week’s Free4All and Mixability Challenges at Splitcoast. The Free4All challenge was to make a project inspired by Christmas music and the Mixability was to make a bright holiday project. I got busy making a background with watercolors and ended up using the same background and dies for both projects. I’ll show you below just how easy it was to make my background.
Here is my Mixability project using a Z Becky Brown Purse:
Here is my Free4All card:
I’m going to show you directions for making my Z Becky Brown purse inserts since the card is just a simpler version.
First I created my background by wetting some watercolor paper and adding splashes of paint and letting them merge together (no right or wrong here).I used blue and red paints so I’d end up with a purple when they mixed. After it was dry I added some extra splatters of blue.
Next I added some “snowy” splatters with while acrylic paint… and the background papers are done! How easy is that?
I splattered some blue paint (very little) on some white cardstock.
I die cut with my Big Shot and 658764 Victorian Carolers die.
I cut a wavy strip of white cardstock to go along the bottom edge of the purse inserts. I sponged all the edges (brown for purse and blue for card).
I added some Polar White Flower Soft at their feet.
Put the inserts in the Z Becky Brown purse. Add a bow and a little charm.
