MIX68 Thinking Of You

This is my card for the Mix-ablity Challenge on Splitcoast (MIX68)

This week we were challenged to make a project using a reverse masking technique. I used a die from Sizzix (655351 Elephant #2), Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos (Peach, Raspberry, Black Licorice, Pistachio), Gesso and stamps from Impression Obsession (CL445 Banners &  Greetings, CC123 Cover-a-Card Rolling Waves

Layer some post-it notes onto scrap cardstock. Die cut elephant.

This will be my mask.

Place stencil over white cardstock. Color with Gelatos (Peach & Raspberry)

Add some gesso randomly though a stencil.

Use your post-it for a mask over the elephant. Spray inks through a stencil and then add a little Raspberry Gelato to tie the elephant color into the background. Outline the elephant with a black PITT Artist Pen.

Die cut another elephant. Repeat the same process used for the stenciled elephant. Cut out ear with scissors.

Finish the card by trimming the elephant panel and adding a white mat. Spray white folded card and then stamp over the top with CC123 Cover-a-Card Rolling Waves. Add sentiment and a bow.

Don’t Flip Out

Happy Tuesday! There’s a new challenge  at Tiddly Inks – Head In The Clouds.
Here’s my challenge card using Pinky Punker.

Image was colored with Touch Twin markers. I used Faber Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos for the grassy area and then added some Flower Soft for texture. The clouds were made with Gesso and my finger. The phrase is from The Stamps of Life.
