AA Great Day

Happy Birthday

This is my card for the Mix-ablity Challenge on Splitcoast (MIX69) This week we were challenged to make a project using a faux tile technique.

I used the Birthday Boy image from Tiddly Inks for my card. Image was colored with Touch Twin markers.

I made the background by painting 3 colors of acrylic paint on my paper. After it dried completely I added strips if washi tape. Then I painted over the open spaces with white acrylic paint.

I made a white cardback and then used Sizzix 659202 Regal Labels Framelits to cut my card by cutting just below the fold.

I die cut my homemade background with a matching die.

Ready for Back to School time?

I made my “chalkboard” by painting green acrylic paint onto some cardstock. I let that dry and then matted it with brown cardstock to make a frame. I paper pieced my dog (PK-1334 Howling Puppy) by stamping the outline image onto patterned paper (The Paper Loft) and then cutting out (I added a little extra shading with a grey marker and colored the kerchief blue with Touch Twin markers). Once I had my dog ready I stamped my sentiments and bone with white ink. The dog was attached with foam dots for a little dimension. Add a ribbon and you’re done!
