Why I am thankful for my MISTI …

Perfect placement of sentiments every single time.
No more hunting for the correct sized block.
The ability to restamp in exactly the same place to get a nice solid image,
Chickens like the MISTI too.

I watercolored a splashy image (see colors below). After it was completely dry I stamped my sentiment with black ink.

I inked up my leaf stamps in orange (Spiced Marmalade) and then tapped in a bit of deep red Aged Mahogany) ink randomly before stamping. Because it was on watercolor I needed to stamp more than once to get a nice solid image. I kept going stamping leaves until I had framed the sentiment.

I finished my card by adding some gold metallic tape from Hobby Tape under the sentiment words and adhering the panel to a kraft card base.

Thanking Our Soldiers

Today is my day to host a Falliday Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. If you haven’t checked out the challenges going on you should. Lots of fun and some of the challenges (including this one) are for card drives to special places. You can see my challenge HERE.

Today’s drive benefits Operation Quiet Comfort – an amazing organization whose sole purpose is to provide love and gratitude for ill and injured members of our military.

From their website:

“Operation Quiet Comfort exists solely for the purpose of honoring and comforting America’s military men and women who become sick and injured while serving in harm’s way. We also provide support to those who care for them.”

I used acrylic paint to make my background (the stripes and then I splattered) and then added a die cut phrase (from Lawn Fawn). I finished my card by making accent stripes with 1/16″ gold metallic tape.
