This month’s challenge at Ken Oliver Crafts is Vacation. I went with a road trip theme for my project.

My card uses Color Burst (Sepia & Alizarin Crimson), Ken Oliver Crafts Clear stamps Covered Bridges and my Mini MISTI .

After my color burst was completely dry I used my Mini MISTI to stamp the car. This is on textured watercolor paper and it took a few stampings to get a nice image (thank you Mini MISTI!).

Next I added the sentiment. I finished my card off by rounding the corners and adding a button.

Color Burst Sunflower and a MISTI Trick!

Happy Monday!
The girls on the Ken Oliver Crafts Team were challenged to make a project that is not a card, tag or art journal page… so here is what I came up with. I used a Ken Oliver Craft 6 x 6″ Mixed Media Art Board as my canvas for my painting.

I started with a stencil (Mini Joyful Sunflower Stencil from The Crafters Workshop) and tapped some Color Burst onto the stencil. I misted with water.

I used a wet paintbrush to rewet the Color Burst. .

I used Color Burst in Turquoise and Color Burst Liquid Metals Verdi Gris applied with a wet paintbrush to create my background.

***MISTI trick time!***

I assembled the Spring phrase with Pegz Clickable Letterz Stamps. These are fun individual letter stamps that snap together. I used two of the Pegz stamps on their sides in the corner of my MISTI (I added tape so they stayed in place) to get just the right placement for my stamp phrase. It worked perfectly the first time but had it not stamped a complete image, I could have gone right back over it and stamped again. I used Ken Oliver Crafts Click -it Inkpad in Turquoise.

The MISTI magnets are so strong they held my thick Art Board in place!

New Color Burst Colors and some CHA Fun!

Hello there!

I got to play with the new Color Burst colors (Caribbean Brights) from Ken Oliver Crafts at CHA! I didn’t have any to take home so I had the Color Burst Master Ken Oliver make me some sheets of watercolor paper up with some of the new colors and I promptly went back to my hotel and made up some quick cards. The first two cards use the new Color Burst colors and Ken Oliver Craft stamps (Covered Bridges and Studio Collection Set 1)

Here’s a peek at the new colors!

My last card uses the new (and equally awesome!) new patterned papers from Ken Oliver Crafts that look just like you made a Color Burst background (without getting your hands pretty colors). This paper collection is called Color Burst Splash (and will be available soon). I also stained a canvas flower with Color Burst to match! The stamp is from Impression Obsession. Fun stuff!
