MIX9 Picture Perfect

This is my card for the MIX9 Mixability Challenge on Splitcoast. It’s also my card for Fabulous Fridays on the Tiddly Inks Blog

The challenge is to use metal and then add ink or paint.

For my metal I used Scotch 3M Aluminum Foil Tape. I bought mine at Lowes but it’s available in just about any store that has a hardware section. I cut a square piece of cardstock and covered it with tape. Don’t worry about it being super smooth or the seams for this project. Just get everything covered as smooth as you can.

I then covered a circle of cardstock that I die cut with a Sizzix Circle Framelits die.

I embossed the square with a 656259 Flourish & Vines Textured Impressions embossing folder . It didn’t fit in the folder so I lined it up as close as I could and then ran the other side through my Big Shot. Don’t be concerned about the seam. It will disappear by the time the project is finished.

I embossed the circle with a Sizzix 655838 Textured Impressions Dots & Flowers embossing folder.

I painted both pieces white (cheapy acrylic paint) and then before the paint was totally dry I sprayed the square with Clearsnap Spray! in Tangerine. I let it run a bit through the design. Let dry. Then I buffed off some of the high spots with first a damp paper towel and then a dry one. It took off just enough paint to let the metal shine on some of the high spots.

I colored and cut my die cut my image with a Sizzix Circle Framelits Die and attached it to the circle. Image is Picture Perfect from Tiddly Inks.
