MIX20 Tranquility

This is my card for this week’s Mix-Ability (MIX20) Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge this week (MIX20) is to shade with black.

I started out with a Gelli print background. I stamped the Sea Grass image randomly in green ink. I stamped the seahorse image (Sweet Seahorse) and then painted over it with acrylic paints. I stamped the splatter stamp in Cornflower ink randomly.I finished up with Smooch Glitz and Smooch Pearl Topcoat to make my splatters look like bubbles.

Stamps: Impression Obsession (C9016 Sweet Seahorse, F9023 Sea Grass, C13125 Splatter 1, C9004 Tranquility)
inks: Clearsnap (Artichoke, Cornflower, Chocolate, Smooch)
Acrylic paints, white gel pen

MIX18 Cock-a-Doodles

This is my card for this week’s Mix-Ability (MIX18) Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge this week (MIX18) is to create a shape with paint or markers and then add a outline with a fine black pen or white gel pen.

I smeared some white paint onto my card (see my fancy tool?)

I took a Gelatin print that I already had on hand and painted some basic chicken bodies on with white paint.

I added a black pen outline.

I thinned down some Chocolate ink (Clearsnap Premium Dye ink) and splattered my chickens and card. Assemble and add a twine bow.

MIX14 Merci Beaucoup

This is my card for this week’s Mix-Ability (MIX14) Challenge on Splitcoast. The challenge this week is Modern Art. Use at least 2 coloring mediums to create a free flowing piece of art.

Here’s my card using acrylic paints, stamps from Impression Obsession, an embossing folder from Sizzix and inks from Clearsnap.

The background is painted (Gelli Printing… thanks Lydia!) with acrylic paints and then splattered with Smooch Glitz ( Goldrush).

I sponged the edges with Colorbox Chalk ink (Pumpkin Spice).

I stamped the sentiment (Impression Obsession CL427 Thank You) in Pumpkin Spice, die cut (Sizzix Fancy Labels #4), sponged the edges and then splattered with Smooch Glitz Goldrush.

I cut and then embossed (Sizzix Textured Impressions Dotted Squares Set) the red panel and then lightly skimmed a little white acrylic paint over the raised areas.
