Fairy Tales

I got to help out my friend Tami Mayberry with her new set from Gina K Designs this month. Hard job. hehe… NOT!!!! That means I also get to participate in the Illustrator Blog Hop Challenge this month as a Special Guest Designer for Tami. Fun stuff! You can see what the Gina K Designs team came up with by checking the participant list on Tami’s Blog.

The challenge:
Choose your favorite children’s book and make a card or other paper crafted item inspired by the book.

I chose a Kermit the Frog book (my son Bobby loved Kermit!). We actually had quite a few of the Kermit books, I always got a kick out of them too.

So Frog book = Frog card!

This week’s challenge is Anything But a Card!

I decided to make this baby themed notebook. I removed the front cover from a premade notebook (I think I found it at Target) by unwinding the wire and added my own front cover. Then I made new holes and threaded the spiral wire back in.

The challenge this week is to “Get Punchy”. Use punches or die cuts on your project

Here’s my card:

The flower was made with 4 punched circles that were layered with foam tape and then the petals kinda squished (technical term there!) until I got the shape I wanted.
