RBC19 Make a Scene

The Dirty Dozen and Dirty Dozen Alumni are posting challenges all week on SCS!

Check out the Dare to Get Dirty ’08 Challenges on SCS!!!

I adore the new Cause a Scene Kittie Kits! Miss Kittie thought of everything. There are grasses, leaves, tree trunks and fences in assorted sizes that make it so easy to do a scene card. The grasses even go in different directions to make them even more realistic.

So today’s Rubbernecker Blogger Challenge (RBC19) is to make a “Scene” card (it doesn’t have to be made with the Kittie Kits). Make a card with type of a scene. A mountain scene, a farm scene, a fishing scene, a fall scene……you get the idea!

I started out with watercolor paper for my card. I wet the top of the paper and then used Ranger Distress Broken China ink (I put a couple drops of reinker in the lid) on a wet paintbrush and did a wash (leaving some areas lighter). I let the sky dry and did another wet color wash using Peeled Paint ink for the grassy area. I let the paper dry completely before I stamped the tree trunks in Walnut Stain ink. I wet my paint brush with water and let the ink bleed a bit on the tree trunk. While that was drying I stamped the grassy spots (Peeled Paint) and fence Walnut Stain. I stamped the leaves on the trees (Peeled Paint) and then I wet areas of the leaves with water and let it bleed for a couple seconds and then patted it with a paper towel to remove some ink and excess moisture. Peeled Paint ink is so cool. When you wet it the color separates a bit and you get some yellows and browns showing through. After it dried I added a few more leaves.
